The Panoridim Steel Orchestra is a nonprofit steel band located on the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies(UWI). In 1977 the UWI Steel Orchestra conducted their first formal concert. The band consists primarily of University students, graduates and a few musically inclined persons from other educational institutions and communities surrounding the UWI . Presently, the band is sixty percent female. This is as a result of the predominance of females on the campus.
